ÁNFORA is a scientific publication released biannually (January-June / July-December) with the human, technological, and financial support of the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales. This open-access journal holds an L-ISSN: 0121-6538 and is currently exclusively available in electronic format with an e-ISSN: 2248-6941. The publication process involves the management of all manuscripts through the Open Journal System (OJS) and assigns a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each manuscript. Ánfora operates under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. Its primary objective is to disseminate contemporary and pertinent results of scientific research, reflections, and interdisciplinary reviews within the field of human sciences. This aims to foster the exchange of knowledge, opinions, and diverse socio-cultural perspectives at both national and international levels. The journal's content is tailored for students, teachers, researchers, graduates, and professionals in the human sciences, as well as readers interested in this domain.

Classified as a category B journal in Publindex, Ánfora is also indexed in various national and international SIRES. Although the primary language of the journal is Spanish, original manuscripts are accepted and published in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. To enhance visibility and promote wider dissemination in the academic community, all manuscripts are translated into English. As of 2019, Ánfora has become a bilingual publication, and authors are exempt from Article Processing Charges (APC) for this translation process.

New Dossier: "Global Informalizations and Informalities"

Editor: Moisés K. Rojas

Professor of Universidad de Barcelona.

From: January 15th

To: June 15

Neoliberalism operates differently across the regions of the world. One of the
features that reinforces the gaps between the countries of the global North and
South is related to informality. According to the International Labour Organization
(2018), 93% of informal employment is concentrated in developing countries. In
this context, a dossier is proposed that delves into and analyzes informality and the
informalization of labor comparatively, focusing on two aspects.
First, the dossier will underscore the asymmetries that exist in global markets
where Southern countries (mainly Asia and Latin America) have become the
centers of low-cost production. This phenomenon is generated by state projects
and policies that allow as well as encourage the precariousness of local labor in
competition with the global market. Second, it examines the implementation
process, under the influence of international organizations, of precarious economic
models that undermine job security and economic stability. A large group of Latin
American countries have a very weak industrial matrix that has been neglected by
the States, prioritizing precariousness, and primary-export models.
Both processes signify a large- and medium-scale political process to informalize
economies and societies, with global repercussions. There are global economic
and political elites that exercise power over the countries of the South, with the
complicity of local elites, to initiate and strengthen processes of informalization in
economies and employment.
The dossier intends to raise a debate over these terms, with the participation of
researchers from different regions. This would be the political dismissal of
informality from a global perspective. Although the two processes described above
could be the synthesis of the relationship between informality and politics on a
global scale. The dossier is open to explore additional relationships and networks.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

ÁNFORA Journal employs a DOUBLE-BLIND SYSTEM to assess submitted manuscripts, ensuring the quality of content and promoting dialogue within the academic and scientific communities. This methodology establishes the validity and rigor of research processes and results. Each manuscript undergoes evaluation by at least two reviewers, with a third reviewer stepping in to resolve conflicts in assessments.

In the event of contradictory evaluations, an impartial third party is enlisted to make a decisive judgment. The evaluation process is conducted directly within the Open Journal System (OJS) through an online form, providing transparency in the evaluation processes. The form includes specific criteria outlined in the Download Evaluation Format. To ensure transparency, no reviewer is affiliated with the Universidad Autónoma de Manizales.
