Sustainable operative services in heritage hotels and their connection with the sustainable tourism criteria

Abstract
Objective: to characterize the sustainable operating services in hotels of heritage value and their connection with the tourism sustainability criteria.
Methodology: a field research with a descriptive level. The survey technique was used in the data collection and the Likert scale questionnaire was used as the instrument. Reliability was measured through the Cronbach's Alpha method. The population was integrated by managers and people in charge of the different departments in the Avila and El Conde hotels (research scenarios), both located in the Libertador department, Capital District, Caracas.
Results: it was highlighted that implementing environmental management is one of the steps to achieve sustainable development and, especially in the case of hotels of heritage value, it is imperative to apply a respectful management which is in harmony with the environment and ensures the sustainability of buildings of heritage value for national tourism development.
Conclusions: the environmental impact reduction is achieved through the integration between the hotel and its surroundings. In this sense, sustainable processes in the production activities of goods and services engage a greater number of clients in addition to reducing expenses, and where, sustainable management, operational services in equilibrium are assured.
